Tutoring Information
To keep tutoring fees simple, we charge by the hour of private tutoring, but provide many other benefits "free" to you: a one hour introductory planning meeting with the student and parent(s), proctored practice tests (offered approximately two Saturdays a month), regular quick and in-depth communication, all necessary books (usually two per student, but more if needed), a notebook, formula lists, and strategy worksheets written by Alice.

- For most students, we recommend twelve 2-hour sessions (24 hours), one or two meetings per week, and 4-6 practice tests.
- For high scorers (29+ ACT, 2000+ SAT), we recommend eight 1.5-hour sessions (12 hours) , approximately one meeting per week, and 4-6 practice tests.
- It is best to begin preparing for an SAT or ACT two to four months before the desired test date.
Policies
- Rate of $240 per hour for one-on-one tutoring with Alice.
- Pairs of students who want to tutor together will be considered if and only if their scores, strengths, and weaknesses are similar. Rate of $320 per hour for pairs of students who want to meet with Alice at the same time.
- Ten hours of tutoring is the MINIMUM number of hours required for SAT and/or ACT tutoring. This policy is in the best interest of the student.
- Every family MUST book and attend a free introductory meeting with Alice, the student, and one of the parents or guardians,so that we can discuss goals and expectations, make a tutoring plan, and make ensure we are a good fit to work together.
- Every student must take at least one practice test within three months of the start of tutoring. Please take the test proctored through me. If that isn't possible, I can email you one to take at home. Practice tests from other companies are regularly not representative or accurate.
